# Object Editor
The Object Editor allows you to create and edit content directly on the map.
### What is the Object Editor?
The Object Editor is the tool to **create and edit content directly on the map.** Objects can be drawn as **point, line, or area** be started.

* **Point** e.g. *winch anchor point for a snow groomer*
* **Line** e.g. *for a crevasse*
* **Area** e.g. *a piste, garage, or reservoir*

This allows **objects** (pistes, anchor points, ...) to be clearly displayed in Map View.
### How do I open the Object Editor?
* Open [skadii](https://skadii.digital/dashboard)
* Select **“Home”**
* Switch to Map View
* Select the small arrow (>) next to the sidebar to open the sidebar menu.
* Then select **“Objects”**

**Note**
To use these functions, the skadii tool **“object\_editor”** must be enabled in the skadii admin interface for your user account.
If the options *to add*, *, edit* or *delete* are missing, contact your administrator.

Objects drawn as areas (e.g. pistes, garages, or reservoirs) can be expanded into a Smart Zone in Smart Automation.

### How can I add an object in Map View?
* Open the “Objects” section.**objects**"
* Select “**+ Add object” in the bottom-right corner.**"
* Select an object type from the drop-down menu.
* Enter additional object data, such as the system and name, then select “**Draw”**"
* Select points on the map to define the object’s shape.
* Set several points to define the shape.
* Select “**Change color**” to set the desired color.
* Then select “**Apply**” to save the changes.
### How can I edit an existing object?
* Open the “Objects” section.**objects**"
* Select the desired object from the list or search for it in Map View.\
Click the three dots in the object’s detail view.
* Click on “**Edit** to:
* change the name
* Under “Location,” select “Edit” again to adjust the object’s shape.
* Save your changes.
* Click on “**Version history**":
* Select an earlier version.
* Select the version you want to restore.
* Select “Apply” to confirm the change.
* Click on “**Delete** to delete the object.
### How can I color-code objects?
When entering objects, **different colors can be selected**. This makes it easy to distinguish objects at a glance and categorize them clearly.
